REWARD FOR A JOB WELL DONE
The Chevron Diesel Technician Award program is a recognition and reward program designed to acknowledge outstanding diesel technicians.  We believe that recognizing the best diesel technicians is important to their career growth, self-esteem and well-being.  It sends a positive message to new and prospective technicians while continually rewarding a job well done.

ELIGIBILITY
Eligible and qualified technicians must meet the following minimum standards for consideration:

  1. Receive two nominations (one from their company management and one from their co-worker or customer
  2. Be recognized by management, co-workers and/or customers for strong technical skills
  3. Go beyond the call of duty to serve customers
  4. Pro-actively work to increase their knowledge and performance
  5. Be a team player

NOMINATION PROCESS
Interested parties who wish to nominate a technician must complete and send the nomination form which is to be filled in or printed off from the website, along with a written endorsement by a co-worker or customer to:

SELECTION PROCESS
The judging committee consists of an ATSSA appointed group that is committed to our industry and wants to ensure that it offers quality careers to qualified individuals.
The judging committee will review all submitted nominations forms and select a winning technician from the group of finalists on a monthly basis.  All finalists names will be placed into a pool that will allow those eligible to become Diesel Technician of the Month in future contests.
Only selected winners, along with their nominators, will be notified of their current contest status.
The Automotive Transportation Service Superintendents Association (ATSSA) endorses this program and will act as the governing body to sanction and administer the Chevron Diesel Technician Award Program for Canada.
The ATSSA has formed a judging committee to receive applications and make a selection on a monthly basis.
The ATSSA committee receives and reviews forms on a continuous basis.  There is no deadline for nomination forms and more than one technician from the same company may be nominated.  One completed application is required per nominee.

TECHNICIAN OF THE MONTH Employer Reward:
 As the employer of the Diesel Technician of the Month your company will receive $800.00 toward the school training for either veteran or newly hired employees.  There will be no restrictions of your choice as long as the institution is endorsed by ATSSA.  Upon the successful completion of a pre-approved training program, simply send the receipt and the program information for reimbursement of $800.00.

Employees Reward
In addition to the Diesel Technician Award, the winner will receive a Diesel Technician of the Month jacket.

ANNUAL AWARD WINNER
As part of the Chevron Diesel Technician Award Program, a grand winner will be rewarded.  The winner will be chosen from the twelve previous monthly winners and will be recognized at the Canadian Fleet Maintenance Seminar (CFMS) as the Canadian Diesel Technician of the Year and be awarded with an education stipend.
